Fresh Take on the Arksen 65 Explorer Motor Yacht
British explorer yacht, Arksen 65, unveiled: Innovative new vessel from UK boatbuilders
First Look: British builder Arksen unveils its latest creation, the 65ft explorer yacht with a mind-blowing 3,700nm range!
Just like its bigger sister, the Arksen 85, this beauty is designed for low-impact, self-sufficient adventures. It flaunts a low displacement hull from Humphreys Yacht Design, perfect for ultra-efficient long-range cruising in all climates.
The heart of this vessel is an open-plan saloon, boasting an aft galley and a lounge up front, maximizing the breathtaking views through the panoramic wraparound glazing. Choose between two or three cabins on the lower deck, with options for a forward ensuite owners' cabin, an ensuite twin or double aft of the central engineroom, and a flexible space that can be customized as a third ensuite double, an owners' study, workshop, laundry, or lower galley.
Standout Features:
- All-aluminum construction allows for semi-customized interiors without the constraints of molds normally found in GRP hulls.
- Increased sustainability, as the aluminum material contains up to 70% recycled metal and can be easily recycled again.
- Choices in propulsion: conventional diesel and parallel diesel/electric hybrid propulsion packages available with heavy-duty John Deere diesels.
- Predicted range of around 3,700nm at 9 knots or as much as 5,000nm at 8 knots from the 9,200 liters of fuel. A hybrid variant will have a zero-emissions mode for environmentally sensitive areas and silent running at anchor.
Designed for seamless living at sea, the Arksen 65 offers all the comforts of home away from home. Its raised-helm position aft can be either partially or fully enclosed beneath its hardtop. Twin freshwater tanks fore and aft can be used for trimming, while fin and gyro stabilizers take care of roll, and twin skegs allow the yacht to dry out without damaging the stern gear.
A tender of up to 3.4m (11ft) can be carried on or above the bathing platform and launched using an aft deck crane. Construction will take approximately 18 months, with prices starting from £3.2 million, excluding taxes.
