British Cyclist Max Hereward Aims for Zappi's Squad in Italy
Aspiring British cyclist Max Hereward, fresh from winning the under-23 National Road Series, has set his sights on joining Zappi's development squad in Italy next season. To make this career-advancing move, the 20-year-old needs to raise £11,500 to cover race and equipment costs, with part of the accommodation and travel expenses requiring personal funding.
Hereward, who describes himself as an 'all-rounder' excelling on short, punchy climbs, has already raised over £2,000 through a crowdfunder. He has also applied for funding from The Rayner Foundation to support his move to Europe. Additionally, the Klaus Tschira Foundation, which promotes science, mathematics, and computer science, has shown interest in potentially supporting Hereward's goal of starting with Zappi's Development Team in Italy.
If successful in his fundraising efforts, Hereward aims to use this opportunity to progress towards the WorldTour, taking a significant step forward in his cycling career.
Max Hereward's ambition to join Zappi's development squad in Italy is well on its way, with over £2,000 already raised and potential support from The Rayner Foundation and the Klaus Tschira Foundation. If he meets his £11,500 target, Hereward will be one step closer to realizing his dream of competing at the highest level in professional cycling.
