British actor of Arab descent Moosa Mostafa, known for his role in Netflix's Wednesday.

The second season of the popular Netflix series, "Wednesday," produced by Tim Burton, has made its return, and one of the standout performances comes from Moosa Mostafa. The British actor of Arab heritage plays Eugene Ottinger, one of Wednesday Addams's few close friends at Nevermore Academy.

Mostafa, born on February 25, 2008, was spotted by Netflix casting directors during auditions for the sci-fi series "The Last Bus." His first screen role was in the 2018 festive comedy "Nativity Rocks!" since then, he has risen through the ranks, becoming the youngest cast member during the filming of "Wednesday's" first season.

The series is set at the peculiar Nevermore Academy, where Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega, tries to master her emerging psychic abilities, solve a supernatural mystery connected to her parents' past, and stop a monstrous killing spree. Throughout the series, Wednesday builds close friendships with fellow students like Eugene Ottinger and Enid Sinclair, while uncovering secrets about the school's elite student society called the Nightshades and dealing with various supernatural threats.

Mostafa's character, Eugene Ottinger, is the president of the beekeeping club at Nevermore. His role offers a contrast to the tone of the series, providing a touch of light-heartedness amidst the darkness. In an interview, Mostafa described his character as "a breath of fresh air" in the show.

Filming for season two took place in Dublin, with Steve Buscemi joining the cast as Barry Dort, the principal of Nevermore. Buscemi was reported to have offered Mostafa encouragement with his studies during filming, as it coincided with Mostafa's GCSE exams in 2024.

Mostafa's parents are reported to be Egyptian and lived in Dubai before moving to the UK. His mother, Rima, has supported his acting career, praising her son for coping with the challenging schedule. Despite the demanding filming schedule, Mostafa often revised for exams in hotel rooms.

In a surprising turn of events, the third season of "Wednesday" has already been renewed, ensuring that fans can look forward to more of Mostafa's performance as Eugene Ottinger. With his talent and dedication, Moosa Mostafa is undoubtedly one to watch in the world of acting.
