Germany's politicians could play a significant role in helping the hostages' families. Aigner suggests using resources and connections to urge for their release.

During their stay from Saturday to Monday in Munich, the hostages' relatives spoke to the Jewish Community regarding their families' experiences. They visited with Florian Herrmann (51, CSU), the head of the State Chancellery, at the State Chancellery.

The relatives urged Germany to exert pressure on Qatar and Turkey, believed to be the masterminds behind the kidnappings. Aigner expressed deep emotion, saying, "It's unbearable not knowing where they are or how they're doing. What we do know is that people are dying again, people are in danger of dying because they are Jews."

The images will remain displayed in the parliament until the hostages have been safely returned.

Though Germany's politicians can take action to help the hostages' families, there are various international strategies that can be employed to secure their release:

  1. Diplomatic Pressure, utilising multilateral engagement, sanctions, and economic pressure on Hamas to release the hostages.
  2. Humanitarian Aid, delivered during ceasefires and ensuring that humanitarian access to Gaza is maintained.
  3. Negotiation and Mediation, using third-party mediators to facilitate conversations between Israel and Hamas.
  4. Public Awareness and Support, engaging in global campaigns to raise awareness about the situation and rally support from international communities.
  5. Legal and Political Pressure, highlighting Hamas's violations of international law to put pressure on the group to comply with international norms.
  6. Support for Israel’s Efforts, providing military and intelligence support to help Israel secure the release of the hostages.

By combining these strategies, international organizations, governments, and individuals can work collaboratively to secure the release of the Israeli hostages being held by Hamas. The Bavarian State Parliament's support for international action in this situation can contribute to a more effective and timely resolution.
