'Brightening the mood for Texas flood disaster victims': Pat Green performs charity concert
Texas country music icon Pat Green recently organised a live stream concert, named the **Pat Green & Friends: Central Texas Flood Relief Livestream**, to raise funds for victims of the devastating July 4 flooding in Central Texas. The event, held on July 16, 2025, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, was a no-audience, live-streamed event that attracted support from fellow country and Texas music stars, as well as Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
The concert served not only as a fundraiser but also as a platform for raising awareness about the flood’s devastation. Green, who personally lost his younger brother John, John's wife, and their two sons in the flooding while they were on a camping trip, used his voice to turn personal sorrow into support for his community.
The concert featured performances from Green, as well as other Texas and Oklahoma music scene artists such as Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Jon Pardi, Wade Bowen, Casey Donahew, Josh Abbott, Eli Young Band, Joe Nichols, Ty Myers, Kevin Fowler, Bob Schneider, and others. Texas Governor Greg Abbott made a video appearance offering words of encouragement and emphasizing Texas resilience.
All proceeds from the concert will be donated to Kerr County Relief, Texas Search and Rescue (TEXSAR) and the Do It for Durrett Foundation through the Pat Green Foundation. The funds raised are intended for those impacted by the Central Texas floods, particularly for families who suffered loss of loved ones, destruction of homes, and displacement due to the disaster.
The concert successfully raised over $1 million to aid flood relief efforts across Central Texas. The event served as a powerful reminder of the resilience and mutual aid that defines Texas, with artists and the governor coming together to support those affected by the disaster.
This concert was a major cultural and charitable response to one of Texas's deadliest flooding events, leveraging music and community to provide both practical help and emotional support for those affected in Kerr County and throughout Central Texas. The event was a community-funded journalism initiative, funded by the Better Together Fund, Carol & Don Glendenning, City of Dallas OAC, Communities Foundation of Texas, The University of Texas at Dallas, The Dallas Foundation, Eugene McDermott Foundation, James & Gayle Halperin Foundation, Jennifer & Peter Altabef and The Meadows Foundation.
