In the Krasnodar Territory, a bus accident has been reported in the village of Defanovka, where a bus carrying 25 passengers fell off a bridge into a river due to flooding caused by heavy rains. Despite the challenging conditions, all passengers were safely rescued by emergency services.

This incident was part of a broader severe flood situation that has led to a state of emergency being declared in the region. The Krasnodar region is currently experiencing unfavourable weather conditions, including heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail, and gusty winds.

According to reports, rescue teams involving over 230 people and 55 pieces of equipment have been conducting operations in the affected areas. Besides the bus accident, flooding has impacted dozens of homes, with 34 houses reported flooded across several villages, including Defanovka, Moldavanskoye, and Novomikhailovsky.

Traffic disruptions have also occurred due to landslides and washed-away infrastructure. Authorities have set up temporary accommodation and continue rescue and aid efforts, despite an unfavourable weather forecast for further heavy precipitation and flooding.

The Ministry of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations of the Krasnodar Territory reported the incident, and employees of "Kuban-SPA" units were also involved in evacuating children's tourist groups from the village of Shirokaya Shchel.

In addition, there is a risk of waterspouts forming over the Black Sea near the region's coast. The regional hydrometeorological center reported that heavy rain and very heavy rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, hail, and gusty winds up to 25 meters per second, are expected in the region today. A storm warning is in effect in the Krasnodar Territory until the end of July 4.
