Brian Snitker Steps Down as Braves Manager After Nine Successful Years

Brian Snitker, a long-time member of the Atlanta Braves organization since 1977, has decided not to return as manager for the 2025 season. He informed the team of his decision on Tuesday, following a challenging 2024 season that saw the Braves miss the postseason for the first time in seven years.

Snitker's nine-year tenure as manager was marked by remarkable success. He compiled an 811-668 record, trailing only Hall of Famers Bobby Cox and Frank Selee in franchise history. Under his leadership, the Braves won six consecutive National League East titles from 2018 to 2023 and captured the franchise's first World Series championship in 26 years in 2021.

Despite the team's struggles in 2024, finishing with a 76-86 record and fourth in the NL East, Snitker remained optimistic. He highlighted the team's late-season surge, including a 10-game winning streak from September 14 to September 23.

Brian Snitker will not return as manager for the 2025 season but will remain with the organization in a senior advisory capacity for the 2026 season. Before then, he will be inducted into the Atlanta Braves Hall of Fame in a pre-game ceremony next year, honoring his significant contributions to the team.
