In a dominant performance on Tuesday night, Freddy Peralta led the Milwaukee Brewers to a 9-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Peralta, who now ties with the New York Yankees' Max Fried for the most wins in the majors, gave up one run and two hits over six innings. He walked two batters but showcased his dominance by striking out the side in the first, second, and sixth innings. This outing also tied the franchise record set by Zach Davies in 2017, as Peralta tallied at least 10 strikeouts for the 15th time in his career and first this season. Offensively, Christian Yelich was a standout for the Brewers. He started the scoring with an RBI double in the first inning and later hit a two-run home run in the fourth, his 29th of the summer season. Yelich finished the game with three RBIs. The Angels struggled to keep up, with Caden Dana (0-2) allowing five runs on eight hits in 3 2/3 innings. The loss marks the Angels' 10th consecutive losing season, a franchise record. The Angels' playoff drought, currently at 11 years, continues. As for the Angels' lineup, Carter Kieboom was selected before the game and made an appearance, recording a bloop single against Peralta. Denzer Guzman also had a notable moment, hitting his first career home run. Looking ahead, José Soriano (10-10, 4.13 ERA) starts for the Angels in the next game, while Brandon Woodruff (6-2, 3.32) takes the mound for the Brewers. Zach Neto, who was dealing with a left hand strain, has been placed on the 10-day injured list by the Angels. The team is yet to announce a replacement for Caden Dana, who was released by the Angels earlier in the season. This victory moves the Brewers one step closer to securing their playoff spot, while the Angels continue their search for their first winning season in a decade.
