Brewers Excel Once More, Crushing Paul Skenes and the Pirates, Marking Their Second Eleven-Game Winning Streak in Two Months

Milwaukee Brewers Extend Winning Streak to 11 Games

The Milwaukee Brewers have continued their impressive form, extending their winning streak to 11 games following a dominant 14-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday. This current streak ties the second-longest winning streak in franchise history, just shy of the 13-game winning run at the start of the 1987 season and the 16-game streak spanning two seasons from the end of 1986 to the beginning of 1987.

The Brewers have been in fine form, boasting the best record in baseball with a current standing of 75-44. They are 5.5 games ahead of the second-placed team, demonstrating their dominance in the league. This season, the team is on pace to break the club record of 96 wins, which was achieved in 2011 and 2018.

The game against the Pirates saw several standout performances. Christian Yelich hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning, while Brice Turang homered in the fourth. William Contreras doubled home a run in the third inning. Freddy Peralta, an All-Star, worked six scoreless innings, lowering his ERA to 2.90 and improving his record to 14-5, leading the majors in wins.

The game was not as successful for Paul Skenes, a two-time All-Star Game starter, who was tasked to face the Brewers. Skenes was chased after four innings, having conceded four runs on six hits. Skenes had a 1.94 ERA before Tuesday's game, leading the majors.

The Brewers' current winning streak started on Aug. 1, making it only eight games since their previous 11-game winning streak. This team has shown remarkable resilience and consistency, with Sal Frelick leading off the game with a home run for the Brewers.

It's worth noting that the 2015 Blue Jays are the only other team, apart from the Milwaukee Brewers, that have put together two separate 11-game winning streaks in the same season (1969-present). The Brewers are now 31 games over .500, only the third time in club history the team has been more than 30 games over .500 (previously in 1979 and 2011). However, despite this impressive run, the team is keenly aware that there's still plenty of work to be done to secure their place at the top of the league.

The Brewers have gone 26-4 since July 5, after trailing the Cubs by four games in the NL Central on that date. This remarkable turnaround highlights the team's determination and ability to bounce back from adversity. As the season progresses, the Brewers will be aiming to continue their winning streak and secure their place as one of the top teams in baseball.

The Milwaukee Brewers have matched the second-longest winning streak in their history, equaling the 13-game winning run from 1987 with their current 11-game streak.

With an astonishing record of 75-44, the Brewers lead all of baseball and are 5.5 games ahead of the second-placed team.

The Brewers' impressive form has seen them win 14 games in a row, tying for the most wins in a single season so far.

In their most recent game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Freddy Peralta improved his MLB-leading win record to 14-5, and several other Brewers players also had standout performances.

Despite their dominant run, the Brewers recognize there's still work to be done to secure their place among the top teams in baseball for the rest of the season.
