Milwaukee Brewers Extend Winning Streak to 11 Games

The Milwaukee Brewers continued their impressive form in baseball, securing their 11th consecutive victory in a resounding 14-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. This victory not only extended their current winning streak but also marked their second-longest winning streak in franchise history.

Brandon Woodruff, with a 4-0 record and a 2.29 ERA this season, was the starter for the Brewers in the series finale on Wednesday. His dominant performance set the tone for the game, allowing no runs and striking out seven batters in his six innings on the mound.

The Brewers' offense was in full swing from the get-go. Sal Frelick hit a leadoff home run in the first inning, his ninth of the season. The home run was the first of six that the Brewers hit in the game, with Christian Yelich, Andrew Vaughn, Caleb Durbin, and Brice Turang also contributing to the onslaught.

Turang, in particular, had a standout game. He added a solo home run in the fourth inning for his 12th of the season, and six of the Brewers' August home runs have been hit by Turang, doubling his season total. His impressive display at the plate helped the Brewers to a commanding lead.

The Pirates had runners on first and second in the fourth inning but ended the inning with a double play, with Andrew McCutchen involved in the play. Mitch Keller, who will start for the Pirates in the series finale on Thursday, had a 5-10 record and a 3.86 ERA this season.

The Brewers' 11-game winning streak is their second of the season, with their longest winning streak being the 14-game streak they achieved in 2025, which is the longest within a single season in Brewers history. However, the 1986-87 streak remains the all-time longest in franchise history, with the Brewers winning their last three games in 1986 and their first 13 games in 1987.

The win coupled with the Cubs' loss in Toronto increased the Brewers' NL Central lead to 7 1/2 games. The Brewers' impressive form has put them in a strong position in the race for the division title.

In the eighth inning, Durbin tacked on a two-run home run against Jared Triolo, further extending the Brewers' lead. The Pirates were unable to mount a comeback, and the Brewers secured a 14-0 victory.

The Brewers have not yet announced a pitcher for the series finale on Thursday, but with their current form, they will be confident of extending their winning streak to 12 games.
