Brest’s festive ice rink set to open with real ice by December 1
Brest is preparing to open a new ice rink in time for the festive season. Authorities have brought in specialist equipment to create a 'real ice' surface around the city’s main Christmas tree. The rink is scheduled to welcome skaters from December 1.
Workers have started setting up a refrigeration system to freeze the rink’s surface. The process involves flooding the area with four tons of coolant and 60 tons of water. Technicians have a 10-day deadline to finish the installation.
The ice rink will operate from the start of the month. With the refrigeration unit in place, the city expects a smooth opening. Skaters can look forward to gliding on real ice beneath the Christmas tree.
