More trains and stops planned between Aalen and Ulm - Brenz Railway Set for €63M Upgrade to Boost Services
The Brenz Railway, a vital transport link in Ostwürttemberg, is slated for a major overhaul. Around €63 million has been secured for the planning phase of the electrification and expansion project between Aalen and Ulm. Baden-Württemberg's Minister of Transport, Winfried Hermann, confirmed this development.
The Brenz Railway, currently a single-track, non-electrified line, will undergo significant enhancements. Plans include increasing the express train frequency to hourly and expanding regional S-Bahn lines. New stops at Ulm-Messe, Aalen Süd, and Oberkochen Süd will be added, improving connectivity.
The project aims to bolster both regional and freight services, with increased train frequencies benefiting commuters and businesses. This initiative is part of the larger Donau-Iller Regional S-Bahn infrastructure project centered around Ulm.
With €63 million secured for planning, the electrification and expansion of the Brenz Railway is set to proceed. This investment promises improved services and connectivity for the Ostwürttemberg region, supporting both passenger and freight transport.
