There is a lady, children and a man in santa claus dress. Man is wearing specs and gloves. Boy is holding a packet. In the back there is a Christmas tree with decorations. Also there is a wall with rocks. Near to that there are toys and some decorations. There is a basket with some items. In the back there are lights.

Those Who Want to Gift the Needy Have Many Options - Bremen’s Holiday Generosity Brings Joy to 10,000 Ukrainian Children and Beyond

Bremen has seen a wave of generosity this holiday season, with several campaigns raising funds and gifts for those in need. From Ukrainian children to local prisoners, community efforts have brought festive cheer to thousands. The initiatives include everything from hand-packed gift bags to radio-led fundraising drives.

One of the largest projects, Gift Bags for Ukrainian Children, filled 10,000 colourful cloth bags with small presents. Backed by the Ukrainian Community in Bremen, Diakonie Bremen, and local Rotary Clubs, the campaign aimed to bring comfort to young refugees. The bags were distributed in time for Christmas, offering a small but meaningful gesture of solidarity.

The combined efforts have reached thousands, from Ukrainian refugee children to local families and prisoners. With nearly €250,000 raised and 10,000 gift bags distributed, the campaigns have made a tangible difference this Christmas. Organisers say the support highlights Bremen’s commitment to caring for its most vulnerable residents during the holidays.
