Final Stroll - Freimarkt Ends with Funeral Procession and Roses - Bremen's Freimarkt Fair Ends After 17 Days, 1.5M Visitors Expected

Bremen's Freimarkt fair is coming to an end after 17 days, with organisers hoping for over 1.5 million visitors this year. The closure will be marked by a symbolic funeral procession, a tradition known as the 'Freimarktsbeerdigung', led by organisers including Bernd Schwochert and his team from s+k Consulting & Events, and Bremen officials like Joachim Ackermann.

The fair, held on the Bürgerweide, featured over 300 attractions, including three large tents, over 120 food stalls, and 15 ghost trains and carousels. All these will be dismantled after the fair. The symbolic funeral procession will see operators of the rides and stalls dressed in black with top hats carrying a coffin to mark the end of the festival. They will also distribute treats and red roses to visitors as a parting gift.

The Freimarkt fair in Bremen has been a significant event, attracting a large number of visitors each year. Despite its closure, the organisers ensure a memorable end with their unique symbolic burial tradition.
