Bremen's 30th School Rock Festival Kicks Off with Mayor's AC/DC Riff

Bremen's 30th School Rock Festival started on March 12 with Mayor Andreas Bovenschulte playing an AC/DC 'TNT' riff on guitar. This annual event, backed by Sparkasse Bremen and the Bremen School Offensive, highlighted local school bands, with around 1,300 bands and 6,500 students taking part over three decades.

The festival showcased five skilled bands this year: 'Rays', 'Wake Up', 'The Cave', 'Reflexxion', and 'The Rookies'. Among them, 'The Cave', consisting of students from Oberschule Kurt-Schumacher-Allee and the Alten Gymnasium, stood out. They won the 'Bremen School Offensive Award' for best live performance, earning a recording day at Studio Hire in Ottersberg valued at 900 euros.

The festival serves as a stage for young musicians from Bremen and surrounding districts to display their abilities and gain recognition. Over the years, it has provided an opportunity for thousands of students to perform and develop as artists.

The 30th Bremen School Rock Festival wrapped up successfully, with 'The Cave' taking home the top prize. This year's event was made possible by the support of various organizations, including Sparkasse Bremen and the Bremen School Offensive. The festival continues to cultivate musical talent in the region, promising more thrilling performances in the years ahead.
