Bremen Neustadt hosts the 19th Music and Culture Festival, SummerSounds, from May 31 to June 1.
The 19th SummerSounds music and culture festival is confirmed to take place in Bremen's Neustadt from May 31st to June 2nd. The Neustadtswallanlagen will be transformed into a vibrant festival ground, offering a diverse programme for all ages.
On the first day of the festival, visitors can look forward to performances by South African singer Nomfusi, who will bring a mix of Afro-Soul, Funk, and Pop to the stage. French singer Charles Pasi and his band will perform Blues, Jazz, and Rock, while DAYYANI, a Danish-Iranian newcomer, will deliver an energetic pop concert inspired by Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys.
The second day of the festival will see the performance of ISAAK, Germany's this year's ESC candidate. DJs 'The Coasts', 'NoMads', and 'Suzé' will also take to the stage, along with Afro-indigenous singer GOTOPO, who will perform folkloric sounds combined with techno-inspired jams.
Michèl Wussow, a rising Northern German artist, will create sensitive indie music, while Mina Richman, a German-Iranian singer-songwriter, will focus on feminist themes. The festival will also feature a fashion show and a second-hand pop-up shop.
For those seeking a more relaxed atmosphere, the gastro mile will offer regional street food, drinks, ice cream, and more under shady large trees. Pony Tyler's 'Mass Karaoke and Goldsprint' will provide great atmosphere, and visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic blanket.
The festival will not only be about music and entertainment. A SummerBrunch and a talk round are planned to inspire dialogue, and information stands from CleanUpYourCity, GOODis, Foodsharing, and other actors will provide sustainable impulses.
In addition, 'Little SummerSounds' will offer child-friendly activities such as music, a bouncy castle, obstacle course, rubber duck races, water games, face painting, kids' yoga, and an interactive magic show.
