Bremen Music Festival Returns for 35th Edition with Star-Studded Lineup
The Bremen Music Festival returns for its 35th edition, promising a grand celebration of music from August 17 to September 7. With over 46 concerts and 26,773 tickets available, the festival showcases renowned stars and young talents from various musical genres and eras.
The festival opens with 'A Grand Night of Music', featuring 18 concerts in nine venues around the market square. Notable artists include Beatrice Rana and Igor Levit, accompanied by orchestras such as the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and the vbw Festivalorchester. They will perform works by composers like Beethoven and Brahms. Beyond Bremen, guest performances will take place in towns across the northwest of Germany.
The Musikfest also explores sounds beyond classical paths, with musicians like Sheléa, Endea Owens, Lucienne Renaudin Vary, and David Enhco taking the stage. Other guest artists include Le Cercle de l'Harmonie, Yulianna Avdeeva, Bach Collegium Japan, Il Pomo d'Oro, Irini, Compagnia di Punto, Ulrich Matthes & Olena Kushpler, Sarah Willis & Sarahbanda, and the Lehmanns Brothers. The festival is funded by the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media, contributing 550,000 and 600,000 euros respectively.
The festival culminates in a grand closing concert celebrating 150 years of 'Die Fledermaus', featuring a spectacular finale with soul legend Stevie Wonder. With a diverse lineup and extensive funding, the 35th Bremen Music Festival promises an unforgettable experience for music lovers of all kinds.
