Bregman and Narvaéz deliver powerful home runs propelling the Red Sox to a decisive 14-1 victory over the Astros.

In an exciting game on Thursday, the Boston Red Sox dominated the Houston Astros, winning 14-1. The victory ties the Astros with Seattle for the AL West lead.

The Red Sox got off to a strong start in the first inning, when Trevor Story was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, giving them a 1-0 lead. This was followed by a three-run home run by Carlos Narvaez in the sixth inning, increasing their lead.

The Astros struggled to respond, with Dustin May pitching six scoreless innings for Houston, striking out eight. However, the Red Sox added two runs in the ninth inning with outfielder Chas McCormick on the mound. Roman Anthony scored on a sacrifice fly by Masataka Yoshida, making the score 2-0 for the Red Sox.

Alex Bregman, who joined the Red Sox after spending his entire career with the Astros, was a standout player in the game. He homered against his former team in two consecutive games, contributing to the Red Sox's impressive win. Bregman has been a key offensive leader for the Red Sox this season, with a .299 batting average, .381 on-base percentage, and .543 slugging percentage. He has also totaled 16 home runs and 51 RBIs so far in the season.

Spencer Arrighetti struggled with command in his second start since missing four months with a broken right thumb. However, the Red Sox's offense was able to compensate for his struggles, with Wilyer Abreu hitting an RBI double and a two-run double in the seventh and eighth innings.

With the series finale on Wednesday, Houston RHP Hunter Brown (9-5, 2.51 ERA) will face RHP Walker Buehler (7-6, 5.40) of the Red Sox. The Red Sox will be looking to continue their strong form and maintain their position in the AL East standings.
