Brandon Blackstock's deceased former spouse, Kelly Clarkson, and his pregnant daughter come forth with comments following his passing.
Brittney Marie Jones, previously known as the production assistant for pop star Kelly Clarkson, was revealed to be in a committed relationship with Brandon Blackstock, the ex-husband of Clarkson, prior to his death. The couple had been living together at Blackstock's ranch in Montana, where they were collaborating on building a livestock auction company and a rodeo.
Blackstock and Jones started their life and businesses in Montana, establishing Headwaters Livestock Auction and The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana. Before his passing, Blackstock was paying Clarkson rent on the ranch they shared, with plans to move out in June 2022.
Brandon Blackstock, who was 48 when he passed away on August 7 after a battle with melanoma, was also involved in studying the Bible with his daughter Savannah six months before his death. Savannah, who is 23 years old, revealed just weeks before her father's death that she was pregnant with her second child, a girl named Julianna.
Savannah shared an emotional tribute to her father on Instagram, a post that was published on the same day it was announced that Kelly Clarkson was returning to tape her singing competition series The Voice. Brandon's celebration of life was hosted by his loving partner, Brittney Marie Jones.
Melissa Ashworth, Brandon's ex-wife, also shared her own tribute to her ex-husband on Instagram last week. The family photo featured in Blackstock's tribute post included Savannah, her husband Quentin Lee, their son Lake, and Blackstock's children with Kelly Clarkson: daughter River, 11, and son Remington, 9. However, Blackstock's 18-year-old son Seth was missing from the family photo.
In May 2024, Clarkson and Blackstock reached a settlement in Clarkson's lawsuit over commission fees. Clarkson agreed to pay Brandon Blackstock a $1.3 million lump sum as part of their divorce settlement, which was finalised in 2022. Clarkson also paid Blackstock $45,601 per month in child support payments and $115,000 per month for spousal support, payments that ended in January 2023.
Brandon Blackstock and Kelly Clarkson share joint custody of their children River and Remington, with the children primarily living with Clarkson in Los Angeles and visiting Blackstock in Montana for one weekend per month.
