Sunday shopping hours during the pre-Christmas season - Brandenburg’s Sunday shopping boosts Christmas sales with extended hours
Shops across Brandenburg will open on selected Sundays during Advent to boost Christmas sales. The move aims to help retailers recover from seasonal dips and attract last-minute shoppers. Several cities have confirmed extended trading hours, with some linking openings to local Christmas markets.
Indeed, the first wave of Sunday openings begins on the first Advent weekend. In Potsdam, stores will welcome customers on both the first and third Advent Sundays. Meanwhile, Brandenburg an der Havel, Neuruppin, Schwedt, and Guben will follow suit on the same first weekend.
The extended Sunday trading gives retailers a chance to balance their annual accounts before year-end. With nine cities participating, shoppers have more options to complete their holiday purchases. The initiative reflects the ongoing effort to support local businesses during the key Christmas period.
