Police Check Vehicle Lighting - Nearly 750 Violations - Brandenburg’s Lumen Week 2025 exposes shocking lighting violations on roads

Brandenburg’s Police Inspection Teltow-Fläming has wrapped up its annual Lumen Week 2025 campaign. Between November 10 and 16, officers checked nearly 3,000 road users, targeting vehicle lighting and road safety. The operation highlighted widespread issues with lighting compliance across cars, bikes, and lorries.

Over the six-day campaign, police documented a total of 1,293 traffic offences. Nearly 750 of these involved lighting violations, ranging from faulty bulbs to missing reflectors. Officers stopped drivers, cyclists, and truckers alike, ensuring all vehicles met legal visibility standards.

The campaign resulted in 1,293 recorded offences, with lighting failures making up the majority. Authorities stressed that proper lighting and cautious driving are critical as winter approaches. Further checks may follow to reinforce compliance with road safety rules.
