Bradley matches Mickleson's score
Keegan Bradley Takes the Lead at Northern Trust Open
In a thrilling turn of events at the Northern Trust Open, Keegan Bradley has surged to the top of the leaderboard. Bradley carded a impressive five-under 66 on Friday, leaving him tied with Phil Mickelson at seven under, after Mickelson's second consecutive one-under round.
Bradley's round was marked by a series of three consecutive birdies, a performance that boosted his title hopes significantly. Mickelson, meanwhile, has been consistent with his play, maintaining his one-under score for the second day in a row.
The tournament is far from over, with one more round to be played. Three players - Pat Perez, Jonathan Byrd, and Bryce Molder - are hot on the heels of the leaders, all sitting at six under. Aaron Baddeley, Dustin Johnson, and Bill Haas are two shots off the pace, while Justin Rose is five shots behind the leaders, at two under.
Baddeley, who ended the day at six under, expressed satisfaction with his play, particularly his finish. "I'm really happy with how I played today, especially towards the end," he said. "The three birdies in a row were a great way to finish."
Bradley, too, seemed excited about potentially being in the final group with Mickelson, who is tied for the lead. "It would be fantastic to be in the final group with Phil," he said. "He's a great player, and it would be an honour to play alongside him."
USPGA champion Bradley secured a share of the lead with a birdie on the 16th hole and a tap-in on the next, both pars on the final hole. Luke Donald, currently even par after a round of 71, seems to be out of contention for the moment.
As the tournament progresses, the race for the title is heating up. With a strong final round, any of the leading players could take the trophy. Stay tuned for updates as the Northern Trust Open continues!
