BPOL NRW: Discovered hidden passport in shoe during inspection for entry fraud

On September 14th, a woman attempted to enter Cologne/Bonn Airport using a French ID card. However, her actions raised suspicions among the officers at the Federal Police checkpoint.

During the questioning and comparison of her photo and person, discrepancies arose. The woman repeatedly gave incorrect information about her departure location, stating her alleged birthplace instead of her actual one. To hinder clear identification, she also tilted her head during image captures.

Biometric comparisons and further inquiries revealed that the woman's physical features did not match the information on her ID card, specifically her height. According to the ID, she was 1.70 meters tall, but she was only 1.50 meters tall.

Other passengers provided hints that led to the woman correcting her statements. Yet, the inconsistencies in her identity were confirmed, leading to the discovery of a Haitian passport in her shoe during a search. This passport clarified the deception and established her true identity.

The woman is currently under investigation for the misuse of identification documents and attempted illegal entry by the Federal Police Office in St. Augustin. It is important to note that there is no publicly available information about this case.
