The Knights wrestling team began their 2023-2024 season on a high note, securing a victory against Bozeman High School with a score of 35-21 on December 2, 2023. This marks the team's first dual win since 2011, a significant milestone in their journey.

The match began with a forfeit win for Jack Barret at 126, adding six points to the Knights' total. This was followed by a hard-fought victory by junior captain Eddie Rosbarsky at 120, who achieved a major decision over his opponent with a score of 6-4. Rosbarsky's match included two near falls and a takedown.

Oliver Caton's forfeit match at 113 began a run of 15 unanswered points for the Knights. Caton, known for his impressive moves, picked up four takedowns, two nearfalls, and a reversal in his match.

At 138, Pi Taylon, a wrestler for the Knights, lost his match at 152 pounds. However, he made a strong comeback, pinning his opponent at 1:29 during the first period.

Dillon Gunlock, a senior captain for the Knights, won his match at 160 pounds with a score of 11-2. Gunlock's match included four takedowns, two escapes, and a nearfall, achieving a major decision over Bozeman's Andrew Sikes.

Jayden Friesen, a junior for the Knights, recorded the first pin of the season for his team, beating Bozeman's 285-pounder by fall at 47 seconds in the first period.

At 145, junior Grady Caton won his match with a score of 16-3, achieving a major decision over Bozeman's Anderson Lannoye.

Michael Almacher won his match with a forfeit, adding another six points to the Knights' total. The Knights now have a lead of 31-21, heading into the final match of the dual.

The Knights' wrestling team will be on the road this weekend (Dec. 8-9) for the Mining City Duals in Butte.

Meanwhile, both the boys and girls basketball teams will be at home this Friday (Dec. 8) for their season opening games against Billings Skyview.
