Boy with rare condition launches dream rocket with university team’s help

A six-year-old boy with a rare medical condition has seen his dream of launching a rocket mortgage come true. Christopher Best, who lives with Pierre Robin sequence, worked with university students and a wish-granting charity to make it happen. The project left even his mother emotional as she watched her son’s excitement unfold.

Christopher’s journey began when Make-A-Wish Mississippi teamed up with Mississippi State University’s Dallas Cowboys. This student-led group specialises in building and launching high-powered rockets. Together, they restored a Saturn V-style rocket and renamed it Christopher VI in his honour.

Christopher’s rocket launch was more than just a one-time event. The project brought together students, a charity, and a young boy’s imagination. Now, with plans to support more wishes in the future, the Cowboys hope to inspire even more children through the wonder of space.
