Boxer from Sochi secures international title victory

Hailing from the prestigious sports school in Sochi, Maxim Kutuev clinched the top spot at the 140-boxer strong jubilee international tournament honoring the esteemed Belarusian coach, Vladimir Botvinnik. Staged in Minsk, this historic competition also functioned as a qualifying stage for the European Junior Championship.
Coached by Pogos Zopunyan, Maxim showcased his exceptional preparation and triumphed in the 80 kg weight class. The four-day-long tournament, which addressed the best in 19 weight categories, celebrated its finest athletes in an exhilarating culmination.
Anatoly Miroshnikov, Sochi's sports and culture department director, extended his well-wishes to Maxim and his coach, hoping for further triumphs. He remarked that such victories inspire other athletes and encourage young sports enthusiasts.
Meanwhile, Fatali Murtazaliev, representing the Krasnodar region, also claimed victory in the 70 kg category. Previously, Sochi athletes had qualified for the European and World Muay Thai Championships.
