Father and son allegedly defrauded the state of millions of euros - Bosnian Firm Accused of €1.6M Social Security Fraud in Stuttgart
A Bosnian construction company operating in the Stuttgart area has been accused of serious financial misconduct. The company, run by a father and son duo, is alleged to have withheld over €1.6 million in social security payments. The company employed over 90 foreign workers, primarily performing flat roof coatings across sites in Böblingen, Wendlingen, Feuerbach, Göppingen, and Geislingen.
The company, initially approved by the Federal Employment Agency, was found to have been operating under subcontracting agreements. However, investigations suggest the company was not a genuine construction firm but a personnel acquisition outfit. The company's 73-year-old father and 51-year-old son are accused of defrauding the state by neglecting social security contributions.
On Wednesday, the customs office conducted searches at the homes and offices of the two managing directors and interviewed employees. If the subcontracting agreements are declared invalid, the father and son could face charges of illegally employing foreign workers.
