Record Champion Düsseldorf Extends with Successful Coach Heister - Borussia Düsseldorf locks in record-breaking coach Danny Heister until 2027
Borussia Düsseldorf, the reigning champions of German table tennis, has secured the future of their head coach, Danny Heister. The Dutchman, who has been with the club since 2010, has had his contract extended until 2027.
Heister's leadership has been instrumental in Düsseldorf's success. He has guided the team to three trebles, winning the domestic league, cup, and Champions League in the same season. His exceptional coaching skills have earned him the respect of club manager Andreas Preuß, who made extending Heister's contract a top priority.
Heister takes over from table tennis legend Timo Boll, who retired at the end of the 2021-22 season. Despite the loss of such a prominent figure, Heister remains confident in the team's prospects. He expressed his happiness about continuing to work for 'the best club in the world'.
Heister's achievements speak for themselves. He has won 24 trophies with Düsseldorf, including 11 league titles and nine cup victories, making him the most successful coach in the club’s history.
As the 2022-23 season progresses, Borussia Düsseldorf finds itself in fourth place after six matches, with four wins and two losses. With Danny Heister at the helm, the club looks forward to continued success under his leadership.
