Novak Djokovic claimed his 100th career title in Geneva, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious tennis career. In an emotional moment, the Serbian star accepted a golden trophy, with his family watching on as he broke the historic barrier.

Djokovic's triumph comes at a crucial time, as he prepares to compete in the French Open, which commences this Sunday at Stade Roland Garros. In the first round, he faces American Mackenzie McDonald. A potential quarterfinal match against Alexander Zverev could follow.

"I'm profoundly grateful to have reached 100 here," Djokovic said after his three-set win against Hubert Hurkacz. "It was a tough battle, but I'm proud of my effort," he added, referring to the more than three-hour final in Switzerland.

Former coach Boris Becker, who worked with Djokovic for three years, congratulated him in a unique way on social media. "Congratulations, darling! #100," Becker wrote. However, recent reports suggest that Becker was surprised by Djokovic's decision to part ways with Andy Murray as his coach, just before the French Open and Wimbledon tournaments.

In the past two decades, Djokovic has won at least one tournament every year. With 24 Grand Slam titles, he is also the record champion, with only Jimmy Connors (109) and Roger Federer (103) winning more tournaments. Djokovic's first title was in the Dutch city of Amersfoort 19 years ago.

Recently, Djokovic's performances have been less than stellar. He was forced to retire in the semifinals of the Australian Open against Alexander Zverev due to an injury. In subsequent tournaments, he suffered early-round losses that raised questions about his form. However, his victory in Geneva seems to have boosted his confidence and renewed his hopes for success in Paris.
