On Saturday, September 13, 2025, a 43-year-old man from the Democratic Republic of Congo was denied entry to Germany at the motorway border crossing in Weil am Rhein. The man had attempted to travel from Switzerland to Norway via Germany.

The Federal Police initiated an investigation into violations of the Residence Act regarding the man. The incident involved a man who was suspected of causing criminal damage and fraudulently obtaining services in Germany. Two outstanding arrest warrants from public prosecutors' offices in Switzerland were discovered for the man, related to criminal damage and fraudulently obtaining services in Germany.

As a result, the man was subject to a multi-year ban on entering and staying in Germany. The Federal Police sent the man back to Switzerland after denying him entry due to the existing entry ban.
