Border Control Reintroduction Investigation: Uncovered Findings Documented

At the Reitzenhain border crossing, a knuckleduster was found in the vehicle of a 45-year-old Bulgarian national. The weapon was seized, and a criminal complaint was filed for violating the weapons law against the individual. A 37-year-old Bulgarian national is now facing charges of receiving stolen goods in connection with the same incident.

Meanwhile, at the Oberwiesenthal border crossing, a 45-year-old Czech national was found with a strong smell of cannabis, a joint, and a switchblade. The case involving the Czech national was handed over to the state police or the federal customs administration for further processing.

Several other individuals were also apprehended. A 44-year-old Dutch national was discovered with an order for a total fine or imprisonment for attempted smuggling of foreigners. The Dutch national paid a portion of the fine on the spot and continued his journey. A 47-year-old Czech national was discovered with an order against him for violating the compulsory insurance law.

At the Reitzenhain border crossing, an electric scooter that was reported stolen was found in the trunk of a VW Crafter. The case is currently under investigation.

The Hungarian authorities presented a 49-year-old Hungarian national to the duty judge at the Chemnitz Local Court. The individual had a warrant for preventive detention due to a risk of flight. The Romanian authorities presented a 37-year-old Romanian national, who was discovered with an order for the enforcement of a sentence for fraud. The Romanian national paid the outstanding amount and was allowed to continue his journey.

In addition to these cases, several criminal offenses were also detected during the border controls. The Federal Criminal Police Office (Bundeskriminalamt, BKA) has taken over the focus operational leadership in the Federal Police, and the responsible authorities for further investigations are the state criminal police offices (Landeskriminalämter) and the Federal Prosecutor's Office.
