Border Arrests: Multiple suspects with active warrants apprehended at the frontier

On the morning of September 15, 2025, a significant event unfolded at the Bietingen-Thayngen border crossing as a 45-year-old Latvian national was taken into custody by Bundespolizei officers. The individual was traveling by long-distance bus from Switzerland to Germany.

During the entry control, officers found four arrest warrants against the traveler. It was revealed that the Amtsgericht Bremerhaven had previously convicted the man in all four cases for theft. This conviction included an unpaid fine, and the man had also failed to appear for sentencing in another case, which had prompted the Bremen public prosecutor, the Staatsanwaltschaft Bremen, to seek him.

In two cases, the court had withdrawn the man's probation. The Bundespolizei Inspection Konstanz is now responsible for the man's custody, and he is expected to serve his total sentence of nearly two years at the Justizvollzugsanstalt Konstanz.

For more information, please visit the Bundespolizei's website at www.bundespolizei.de or follow them on Twitter at @bpol_bw. You can also contact the Bundespolizei Inspection Konstanz via email at [email protected] or [email protected]. Their telephone number is 07531-1288-1013 (central: -0).

It is important to note that the search results do not provide any additional information about the individual who was convicted by the Amtsgericht Bremerhaven in four cases of theft, had probation revoked in two cases, and was sought by the Bremen public prosecutor for failing to appear in another case. Therefore, the identity of this individual cannot be confirmed based on the given data.
