Booming VfL Sales - Fresh Marketing Chief Announced
Andreas Kluy, a long-standing member of VfL Bochum, has been officially appointed as the Director of Marketing and Sales, effective retroactively from July 1, 2025. Kluy has been serving in this role on an interim basis since the departure of Tim Jost at the end of 2024.
Kluy, 42, joined VfL Bochum in 2011 and has held various positions within the club before rising to the director level. His deep knowledge of the market and the club's operations has been recognised as instrumental in the club's recent growth and development by managing director Ilja Kaenzig.
Under Kluy’s interim leadership, VfL Bochum reported record financial figures for the 2024/25 season. Merchandise revenue increased to €4.54 million, up from €4.32 million, and marketing revenue rose to €22.2 million, compared to €21.7 million previously. These figures highlight his effective contributions to the club's commercial success and growth trajectory.
Kluy is enthusiastic about continuing to drive the club’s marketing and sales strategies alongside his colleagues, aiming to sustain and accelerate VfL Bochum's ongoing development and expansion. The club’s leadership anticipates that Kluy’s comprehensive market expertise will help maintain the high growth rate in merchandising and marketing revenues.
