Unleashing the Literary Joy: World Book Day's Surprise Gift for Saxony Students
With World Book Day on the horizon in 2024, pupils in the enchanting Saxony region are set to receive an extraordinary present – a custom-crafted tale specifically for the occasion! Teachers of 4th and 5th graders, along with special education and welcome classes, have had the opportunity to secure these story vouchers since mid-November 2023, as the gracious Saxony Ministry of Culture announced the initiative on November 16th.
The day for storytelling magic, April 23, is always excitedly anticipated by young readers. Regarding enrollment, the deadline for these vouchers is set to January 31, 2024. From mid-April 2024, these vouchers can then be redeemed for the comically entertaining "Mission Roboter: An Exciting Case for the Luck Agency" by author Anke Girod and illustrator Timo Grubing in any preferred bookstore.
This wonderful reward forms part of the extensive nationwide reading promotion campaign, "I'll give you a story." This campaign is a collaborative effort from esteemed entities such as Stiftung Lesen, Stiftung Buchkultur, Leseförderung des Börsenvereins, Deutsche Post, cbj Verlag, and ZDF.
Participating Saxony schools will be a part of this nationwide promotion by providing book vouchers to be exchanged during literature classes. These vouchers will enable pupils to secure the aforementioned comic novel – a lively story about Mila and Baran who cannot believe their eyes when an enigmatic object mysteriously lands on their rooftop terrace.
