Bolsonaro's son Eduardo's actions in Brazil's talks with the United States are under fire by Alckmin, who accuses him of meddling.

The scheduled virtual meeting between U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Brazil's Finance Minister Fernando Haddad, initially set for August 13, has yet to be rescheduled. This meeting was intended to discuss tariffs on Brazilian products exported to the United States.

Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, the main orchestrator of the negotiations, has been working diligently to reduce the impact of these tariffs. However, the meeting's cancellation has caused dissatisfaction within the Brazilian government.

Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro has been accused of playing a role in the meeting's cancellation due to his political interference. Bolsonaro, son of former president Jair Bolsonaro, has denied any responsibility, stating that the cancellation was not a sign of disrespect to Brazil but a political snub to the Lula government.

Eduardo Bolsonaro has given an interview expressing his intentions to prevent contact between the Brazilian and American governments. This interview is believed to be related to the meeting's cancellation. Bolsonaro also published a photo with Secretary Bessent, claiming they had met on the day the meeting between Haddad and the Secretary was to take place.

However, Geraldo Alckmin criticized Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro for interfering in these negotiations. Alckmin stated that some Brazilians are working against the interests of the country. He did not respond when asked if there is a scheduled meeting with American representatives and the Presidential Palace in the coming days.

Minister Haddad expressed his discomfort about the cancellation of the meeting to GloboNews. The United States has not yet rescheduled the meeting with the Brazilian government, leaving the future of these negotiations uncertain.
