Bollywood Stars Shah Rukh Khan, Vikrant Massey, and Rani Mukerji Secure Acting Accolades; '12th Fail' Crowned Best Film at India's National Film Awards

The 71st edition of India's National Film Awards, honoring films certified between January 1 and December 31, 2023, celebrated significant achievements across Indian cinema. The awards were presented by India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in a press conference and live stream in New Delhi.

Notable Achievements

The Best Actor awards were shared by Shah Rukh Khan for his role in Jawan and Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail. Rani Mukerji won Best Actress for her lead role in Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway.

The Best Feature Film award went to 12th Fail, and the Best Hindi Feature Film was Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery. Sudipto Sen won Best Director for The Kerala Story.

Other notable category winners include:

  • Best Supporting Actress: Urvashi for Ullozhukku (Malayalam) and Janki Bodiwala for Vash (Gujarati).

"Vaathi" won best music direction (songs), and "Baby" (Telugu) won best original screenplay, shared with "Parking" (Tamil). "2018: Everyone Is A Hero" won best production design, and "Nekal - Chronicle of The Paddy Man" (Malayalam) and "The Sea and Seven Villages" (Odia) received special mentions.
