1:1 in Münster: VfL Bochum unbeatable - Bochum's unbeaten streak hits eight after thrilling Münster draw

VfL Bochum stretched their unbeaten run to eight games after a 1-1 draw with Preußen Münster in the 2. Bundesliga. The result keeps them undefeated for over two months in a tightly contested match. Both sides created chances, but neither could secure a late winner.

Bochum started brightly, carving out the first clear opportunity in the 12th minute. However, Münster goalkeeper Johannes Schenk made a crucial save to deny them an early lead. Against the run of play, Imad Rondić put the visitors ahead in the 35th minute with a clever chip over the keeper.

Koji Miyoshi, who missed the entire 2023/24 season with Bochum while on loan at Birmingham City, levelled the score in the 59th minute. The Japanese forward had spent the previous campaign in England's Championship, scoring six goals and providing six assists before Birmingham's relegation. His return to Bochum this season has seen him feature regularly, including a goal against Bayer Leverkusen in November and a red card against Union Berlin in December.

Münster, despite sitting 15th in the table, matched their higher-placed opponents in an open and entertaining game. Bochum pushed for a winner in stoppage time, with Oliver Olsen spurning their best chance to snatch all three points.

The draw extends Bochum's unbeaten streak in the league, maintaining their momentum in the promotion race. Münster, meanwhile, pick up a valuable point in their battle to climb away from the relegation zone. Both teams now turn their focus to their next fixtures in the coming weeks.
