BNP's Tarique Rahman Vows to Fight Corruption, Ensure Security Upon Return

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has been vocal about his political stance and plans for Bangladesh. In recent statements, Rahman and BNP Joint-Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie have criticized corruption and personal enrichment in politics. Rahman has instructed that politics should not be pursued for personal gain, a sentiment echoed by Annie who has claimed that under the current leadership of Sheikh Hasina, corruption worth thousands of crores of Taka has occurred, along with increasing incidents of disappearances, murders, and tortures. Rahman is working on a plan to combat corruption and ensure people's security before his expected return between October and November to meet leaders and workers. BNP plans to build Bangladesh under his leadership and run the country through the upcoming general polls with people's mandate. Rahman has previously highlighted corruption and good governance as central themes of his political agenda, promising independent anti-corruption bodies, transparency, police and justice reform, and the release of political prisoners if he returns. While Rahman's plans for combating corruption and ensuring security upon his return are yet to be detailed publicly, his commitment to these issues has been a consistent part of his political platform. His expected return between October and November aims to meet with party leaders and workers, indicating a renewed focus on BNP's political future.
