BMW Championship PGA Tour 2025: Wagering Analysis Summary

The 2025 BMW Championship is set to tee off at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland, and the betting odds have been released, with some familiar faces leading the way.

The top contenders for the prestigious tournament based on current betting odds are Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Tommy Fleetwood. Scheffler is the clear favourite with odds around +225 to +275, followed by McIlroy at roughly +700 to +800. Fleetwood ranks third in many odds listings, with odds near +1300 to +2000.

Scheffler, who has been the best golfer on the PGA Tour this season, has four wins, one second place finish, and 14 total top ten finishes under his belt. However, his performance at the 2022 BMW Championship was not as impressive, finishing 33rd with a +1.

McIlroy, World No. 2 and reigning Masters champion, is also highly favoured despite skipping the first FedEx Cup playoff event. He has three total wins in 2025 and has rattled off three consecutive top ten finishes in his last three outings. McIlroy finished tied for 11th at the 2022 BMW Championship, shooting -6 overall.

Fleetwood has been in good recent form, pushing him into third among favourites. He finished fifth at the BMW Championship last season, with a score of -8, and has finished top five in two of his last four outings. Interestingly, Fleetwood has never won an event in his 15-year pro career.

Other notable contenders in the betting markets include Ludvig Aberg (+1600), Russell Henley (+2000 to +3000), Cameron Young (+3000 to +3000), Xander Schauffele (+1800), Patrick Cantlay (+2200 to +2500), Justin Thomas (+2200 to +2500), Collin Morikawa (+2800 to +3000), Matt Fitzpatrick (+3500), and Viktor Hovland (+3500).

Aberg, who finished the highest out of the golfers with the six shortest odds in the 2024 BMW Championship, tying for second with a -11, will be looking to improve on his performance this year. Schauffele, who tied for fifth at last year's BMW Championship with a score of -8, ranks 3rd on the OWGR, but 43rd on the FedExCup Playoff standings.

Cantlay, who finished tied for 13th at last year's BMW Championship with a score of -5, has missed the cut in three of his last seven outings. Thomas, who has won three events this season, has yet to find his form in the FedExCup Playoffs, with a best finish of tied for 15th at the Northern Trust.

The 2025 BMW Championship promises to be an exciting event, featuring a strong field of about 50 top players from the FedEx Cup standings. Keep an eye on these top contenders as they battle it out for the coveted title.
