BMW Championship 2025: Betting Odds, Prognostications, and Selections to Triumph
The BMW Championship, hosted by the PGA Tour this week, is gearing up for an exciting showdown as 49 out of the top-50 players from the entire season prepare to compete. However, one notable absence is Sepp Straka, who won't be in the field.
One of the most anticipated returns is Rory McIlroy, who is appearing for the first time in the 2025 FedEx Cup Playoffs. McIlroy, ranked second in the FedExCup standings, finished 4th at Caves Valley Golf Club in a previous event and leads the field in driving distance. He also ranks highly for Strokes Gained: Around The Green, indicating his all-round form.
McIlroy is expected to make a statement performance at the BMW Championship, fresh from a break. Other prominent players in the field include Patrick Cantlay, though his betting odds were not specified in the found results.
The event will be held at Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland, a course designed by Tom Fazio. With a $20 million purse, the tournament features a 50-player field comprising the top FedExCup point earners following the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
BetMGM's top odds highlight Scottie Scheffler as the clear favourite, with 23/10 odds, to win the title. Scheffler, the world No. 1 and current FedExCup points leader, seeks his first BMW Championship title. He is already assured of a place in the closing tournament.
Justin Thomas, a former winner, is offered +2500 odds by BetMGM. Thomas, who has had a spectacular 2025 season with several top finishes, is highly ranked in key statistical areas relevant to this event. Viktor Hovland, winner of the Valspar Championship and third at the US Open, is another notable contender with +3000 odds.
Russell Henley, with good strokes gained stats and only been in the red once from 16 appearances all season, is also a player to watch. Henley finished T17th in the previous tournament.
The BMW Championship course has been stretched to just over 7,600 yards and will play as a par-70 this week. The layout includes four par-3 holes and two par 5s. The par-71 course at Caves Valley Golf Club is known for its fast greens, rolling fairways, and water hazards.
The BMW Championship will be broadcast on Golf Channel and NBC in the US and Sky Sports Golf in the UK. With such a strong field and exciting contenders, this year's BMW Championship promises to be a thrilling event.
