Toronto Blue Jays' Myles Straw Shines in Career-First Multi-Homers Game

On August 16, 2025, Myles Straw made history for the Toronto Blue Jays, delivering a stellar performance in a 14-2 rout over the Texas Rangers. Straw, who went 4-for-5 with two home runs and five RBIs, recorded his first career multi-homer game.

The game began with a bang as Straw ignited a six-run second inning for the Blue Jays with a three-run home run. He continued his impressive performance in the third inning, adding a two-run home run, further extending the lead.

The Blue Jays' offense was on fire, with a total of 18 hits in the game. Myles Straw led the way, powering the offense significantly with his five RBIs.

The Texas Rangers, who have been struggling recently, have now lost four consecutive games. The Rangers' pitcher, Patrick Corbin, left the game after 2 1/3 innings.

The Blue Jays' pitcher, Eric Lauer, also had a brief outing, leaving the game after walking the leadoff hitter in the sixth inning. However, the Blue Jays' defense stepped up, with Davis Schneider making a diving catch in left field in the fifth inning to take away a possible run-scoring hit from Jake Burger.

The game was a significant one for the Blue Jays, who won their third straight game before 42,686 fans at Rogers Centre. George Springer, who returned to the Blue Jays' lineup after missing 15 games due to a concussion, also contributed with a hit.

The series finale on Sunday will see Jose Berrios (9-4) face Texas ace Nathan Eovaldi (10-3). The Blue Jays will be looking to continue their winning streak and end the series on a high note.
