Blue Jackets call up Luca Pinelli for NHL debut vs. Maple Leafs

The Columbus Blue Jackets have called up 20-year-old forward Luca Pinelli from their AHL affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters. The move comes on an emergency basis ahead of their upcoming game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on November 26, 2025. Pinelli, a native of Stoney Creek, Ontario, has been a standout performer in the AHL this season.

Pinelli was originally drafted by the Blue Jackets in the fourth round of the 2023 NHL Draft. Before turning professional, he spent four seasons (2021–2025) with the Ottawa 67’s in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). During his final two years, he served as team captain and set personal bests in points-per-game, assists, power play goals, and penalty minutes. His OHL career totalled 252 points, establishing him as a key offensive player.

Pinelli’s recall provides the Blue Jackets with added offensive depth for their upcoming game. The match will mark his first opportunity to play at the NHL level since joining the organization. Fans can watch the game live on FanDuel’s platforms starting at 6:30 p.m. ET.
