Blood-soaked tale of Oktoberfest 1905: Wiesn's enduring odyssey of ale and atrocity

The much-anticipated second season of the popular television series, Oktoberfest 1905, is set to air tonight at 8:15 PM on the first channel. This captivating series, known for its dark saga about the legendary folk festival, is back with a twist.

The new season is set around the turn of the century and remains true to its storytelling style and basic message. However, there are some intriguing changes. Colina Kandl, a former Wiesn waitress, finds herself in a love story with Nappi, the owner of The German Oak, after being released from prison. This love story, between two women in their 40s, is a departure from Colina Kandl's portrayal as an evil witch in earlier seasons, according to creator Hobmeier.

Colina Kandl's character had a dark past. In the first season, she was involved in a murder, having killed her brutal ex-husband with her friend and disposing of him in the sewer. This season, she seems to be seeking redemption through her newfound love.

A new, shady player enters the scene in the new season. The unscrupulous investor Adam Mertz, played by Rainer Bock, stirs up trouble and adds an element of suspense to the series.

The new season consists of only four episodes, instead of six, due to financial constraints. Despite this, the series does not seem to have received any complaints from Wiesn innkeepers, unlike the first season.

The German Oak, a traditional drinking establishment in Munich, continues to be a central location in the series. Known for its historical associations with Freddie Mercury and Rainer Werner Fassbinder, The German Oak is depicted as a place of excess and forbidden passion.

In addition to Colina Kandl and Nappi's love story, two more couples find love in the new season. The series also sees old alliances breaking and new ones forming.

A beer hall and a roller coaster burn down in the new season, adding to the drama and intrigue. The series' creator, Hobmeier, has confirmed that Maria Hoflinger, played by Martina Gedeck, is waiting in a psychiatric hospital for her return to the world.

The new season of Oktoberfest 1905 is available in the ARD media library for viewers to enjoy. The series' premiere party was held at The German Oak, with fans gathering to celebrate the return of this captivating series.
