Bloober Team is revisiting the horrors of Silent Hill once again, following the excitement generated by their successful remake of Silent Hill 2.

In a move that's been not-so-subtly hinted at by pretty much everyone, Bloober Team is getting their grimy mitts on the original Silent Hill. During the recent Konami Press Start event, a haunting snippet of the SH1 theme (which is still an absolute banger, by the way) started playing along with the logos of both companies, followed by the text "Silent Hill in development."

Detective work, here I come! I'm betting Konami was so pleased with Bloober's re-do of Silent Hill 2 that they've handed the keys to the spooky asylum to the studio for a crack at the original. And, given the SH2 remake didn't hit the shelves until last October and the teaser was just a text on a screen, we might be in for a long wait.

But hey, it's no surprise. Even our Silent Hill 2 review, which was slightly cooler than most with a score of 78%, still came out mostly positive. Pair that with over two million sales, and it's like Silent Hill's haunted hallways are literally calling out for another remake.

You've got to hand it to Bloober, plenty of people doubted they could pull off a remake of a beloved horror classic like Silent Hill 2, what with their mixed-reception games and all. But look who's got egg on their face now! The SH1 remake looks like it's on the horizon, so I can't wait to see if I'm wrong. Maybe next time they'll start with the first one, unlike last time when they chose the more popular second game. Fingers crossed for a release some time soon...or never, seeing as Bloober is currently working on Cronos: The New Dawn and Konami's got Silent Hill f coming out in September 2025[1][2][4].

Other games to look out for this year include the best PC games[3], our all-time favorites, freebies, snazzy FPSs, grand RPGs, and co-op games that'll make you feel less lonely[3].

Trevor SandersA die-hard horror fan, Trevor was first introduced to the world of Silent Hill through a friend's PlayStation. It was love at first fright. His obsession with Silent Hill, along with an unhealthy fascination with other horrors such as Resident Evil and Fatal Frame, has led him to cover the genre for various publications. He believes the scariest part of any game is the overly optimistic 'estimated' release date.

Fans of the Silent Hill series are surely delighted by the news of Bloober Team taking on the remake of the original game. Given the positive reception of the Silent Hill 2 remake, it's no wonder that Konami entrusted Bloober with revisiting the first instalment. As we eagerly await the release, we can't help but look forward to other highly anticipated games gracing our screens in 2025, such as those from the world of PC gaming and entertainment at large.
