Blackmail and Forged Documents Scandal: Emirati Musician Hussein Al Jassmi Files Lawsuit

Emirati Singer Hussein Al Jassmi Accuses Composer Bahaa Hosny of Defamation and Forgery

Emirati singer Hussein Al Jassmi has filed a formal complaint with Egypt's Public Prosecutor, accusing composer Bahaa Hosny of defamation and forgery. The dispute revolves around a smear campaign involving forged documents and social media blackmail.

The case was lodged through Al Jassmi's lawyer Mohamed Osman. The dispute escalated in May when Al Jassmi discovered Facebook posts managed by Hosny that accused him of plagiarizing a copyrighted melody. The posts included a purportedly official certificate from the Egyptian Authors' and Composers' Association (EACA) as evidence.

However, the EACA later confirmed that the certificate was fabricated. The document provided as evidence in the smear campaign was manipulated by Hosny and a complicit employee. The Egyptian Authors' and Composers' Association issued a statement disavowing the forged certificate, calling it a "blatant violation" of its protocols.

The case accuses Hosny of defamation, forgery of official papers, and exploiting social media to extort financial gains. The smear campaign is allegedly orchestrated by an audio production company, of which Hosny is a part.

Composer Bahaa Hosny, who had filed an unrelated complaint against Al Jassmi, is now involved in the conspiracy to falsify the document along with an employee. Al Jassmi's legal team submitted additional evidence to Egypt's Interior Ministry on June 5, including screenshots from Hosny's phone.

Hosny and the implicated staff now face legal action for their role in the forgery of the EACA document. The accused in the complaint is an unnamed audio production company.
