Blackhawks sign top prospect Sacha Boisvert to three-year NHL deal
The Chicago Blackhawks have secured young forward Sacha Boisvert with a three-year, entry-level contract. The deal runs through the 2027-28 season and carries a salary cap hit of $974,167. Boisvert, 19, was originally selected by the Blackhawks in the first round of the 2024 NHL Draft.
Boisvert's path to the NHL began in the United States Hockey League (USHL), where he spent two seasons with the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Over 118 regular-season games, he tallied 113 points, including 53 goals and 60 assists. His performance earned him a spot at the University of North Dakota for the 2024-25 season.
As a freshman, Boisvert made an immediate impact, scoring 32 points (18 goals, 14 assists) in 37 games. His standout season led to him being named the NCHC Rookie of the Year. The following year, he transferred to Boston University, where he recorded 17 points (3 goals, 14 assists) in 26 games during the 2025-26 campaign. One of his career highlights came on Nov. 10, 2025, when he was named Hockey East Player of the Week. The honour followed a four-assist performance against Merrimack, setting a new personal best. Across his collegiate career, Boisvert has played 63 games, amassing 49 points (21 goals, 28 assists).
The Blackhawks' contract with Boisvert locks in a promising young talent until 2028. His track record in junior and collegiate hockey suggests he could become a key contributor in the coming seasons. The team will now focus on integrating him into their development system.
