Black Sea vessel carrying illicitly obtained Ukrainian grains has been seized.
ain't no holdin' back with this here story about a shady boat full of filched Ukraine grain! The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) and the State Border Guard Service (SBGS) got their hands on this foreign vessel sailing the Black Sea, catchin' it red-handed illegally transportin' Ukraine's stolen crops from temporarily occupied territories to third countries.
Now, it's been reported by Ukrainska Pravda that the ship in question is named "Anka," but keep in mind, that's just one source and ain't necessarily set in stone. Yankee investigators have determined that this boat is part of Putin's hidden pirate fleet, sellin' Ukraine grain to third world countries like a petty crime boss.
In late 2024, this bulk carrier exported 5,000 tonnes of wheat from the port of Sevastopol, stolen straight from those occupied territories down south. The SBGS reports that this vessel was flying a flag from an Asian country to hide its crop's dirty past.
During the search, they seized all kinds of incriminating evidence, like shipping equipment, documents, and stuff that clearly links this boat and her crew to the illegal transportation scheme. The vessel's been impounded, and the crew's been put in the slammer. A pre-trial investigation is going down right now, so we'll have to wait and see what comes out of it.
As for other news, Ukraine's National Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) has auctioned off a seized Russian oil tanker, the Nika Spirit, for UAH 6.4 million (around US$154,000), way above its estimated value of UAH 2.4 million (around US$57,400).
