Multiple Accidents in Southwest Germany Due to Icy Roads - Black ice triggers multiple accidents in southwest Germany overnight

Black ice has caused several accidents across southwest Germany overnight. The icy conditions formed as frost settled in highland areas, creating hazardous driving conditions. Authorities have reported no injuries from the incidents so far.

One of the affected areas was near Villingen-Schwenningen in the Schwarzwald-Baar district. There, a vehicle skidded off the road due to the black ice. Despite the slippery conditions, the damage from these accidents remains minimal.

While no serious injuries have occurred, the icy roads continue to pose risks. The DWD’s warning suggests drivers should remain cautious, especially in higher elevations. Authorities advise checking official sources before travelling overnight.
