Ice patches on A7 result in minor incidents - Black ice and freezing temperatures paralyze Baden-Württemberg overnight

Freezing temperatures caused hazardous conditions across Baden-Württemberg on Monday evening. Icy roads led to crashes on the A7 motorway, while burst pipes in Stuttgart kept firefighters busy. Authorities issued warnings as black ice spread across the region.

The German Weather Service (DWD) had earlier warned of black ice, particularly south of the Danube and in the Swabian Alb. The highest risk was forecast for areas east and southeast of Stuttgart and Tübingen, stretching into the Allgäu.

The icy spell disrupted travel and led to property damage in parts of the state. While no major injuries were recorded, the incidents highlighted the risks of sudden cold snaps. Authorities continued to monitor conditions as temperatures remained low.
