Black Friday 2024 Breaks Records Beyond North America’s Borders

Black Friday has emerged as a critical moment for brands and retailers in consumer technology and durable goods. The event evaluates product strategies and merchandising across global markets. Some regions now witness sales more than double the usual levels during this period.

Latin America, Western Europe, the Middle East & Africa, and Central and Eastern Europe recorded the highest HSI values for Black Friday in 2024. In Latin America, Brazil and Colombia both surpassed an HSI of 200, indicating sales were over twice the typical volume without a shopping holiday. Consumer Electronics & Accessories led the region’s purchases, followed by Computers and Gaming, Small Domestic Appliances (SDA), Major Domestic Appliances (MDA), Mobile & Telecom Devices, and Office Equipment & Supplies.

The steady rise in Black Friday sales activity outside North America mirrors shifting consumer habits. Regions like Latin America and Western Europe now experience sales peaks that outshine traditional holiday shopping periods. For brands and retailers, the event continues to serve as a key indicator of annual performance and market strategy.
